AB789
Passage of AB789 in 2021 means that primary care physicians are required to offer a
voluntary hepatitis B and hepatitis C test to patients at risk!
California is the first state in the country required to provide voluntary hepatitis B and hepatitis C screenings to adults with the passage of AB 789 (Low, 2021).
Some doctors may not know, so make sure you ask. It is your right!

Hep B Vaccine
Hep B Vaccination recommended universal Hep B vaccination for all adults aged 19-59
In February 2022, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) recommended universal hepatitis B vaccination for all adults aged 19 to 59. Additionally, adults 60 years and older who have additional risk factors for HBV infection or want the vaccination are recommended for vaccination. Ask your doctor about vaccination or visit your local pharmacy.
