Exciting New Hep B Legislation
SF Hep B Free is excited to announce 2 exciting legislative proposals that take us one step closer to our goal of ending chronic Hepatitis B.
The Two Proposals:
Resolution to Make April 30th National Adult Hepatitis B Vaccination Awareness Day
This has been presented in both House and Senate, and we are hopeful to see it passed!
Introduction of the Liver Illness Visibility, Education and Research (LIVER) Act of 2019 (HR 3016).
Introduced by Representative Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), the bill takes bold steps to increase investments in research, prevention, and awareness activities to address hepatitis B
The LIVER Act will authorize an additional $45 million a year for 5 years for hepatitis B and liver cancer research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
